No. It works out of the box on n0's public iroh infrastructure. If you want transfers to rely only on servers you control, the project ships a relay and a discovery service you can spin up on your own server, and you point the apps at them under Settings, Infra.
No. Files are published from the sender's device and fetched directly by the receiver over encrypted QUIC with TLS 1.3. When two devices can't reach each other directly, a relay forwards encrypted packets and cannot read the files.
Yes. Share a link or QR code and the receiver can open the web app in a browser. The project recommends the native app for large files, since the web client has limited throughput.
