Can my household share a self-hosted AFFiNE workspace?

Yes. Each workspace on a self-hosted instance gets up to 10 member seats. More seats need a paid Team license.

Is the self-hosted server open source?

The Community Edition is free to self-host under the MIT license. Enterprise Edition code in the backend uses a separate commercial license.

What does the server need to run?

The Docker Compose setup runs AFFiNE with PostgreSQL and Redis. The docs suggest 2 GB of RAM for basic use and 4 GB if some docs exceed 10,000 words.
