Does Homepage need access to the Docker socket?
Only for container status and automatic discovery. Mount /var/run/docker.sock read-only and Homepage picks up containers and labels, or leave it out and list your services in services.yaml by hand.
Homepage draws one start page for the services on your server: bookmarks, live Docker container status and widgets for more than 100 apps. Everything is declared in YAML files you keep in Git.

Put it behind a reverse proxy with TLS and authentication, or keep it on a VPN. Since version 2.0 it can also gate itself with a password or OIDC using the HOMEPAGE_AUTH variables, and HOMEPAGE_ALLOWED_HOSTS lists the hostnames it answers to.
In the /app/config folder: settings.yaml, services.yaml, bookmarks.yaml, widgets.yaml and docker.yaml. Mount that folder from the host and back it up, since the whole layout lives in those files.
More apps in Monitoring.
Monitor CPU, memory and disk use across your machines from one dashboard. A small agent runs on each system and reports to a hub you host, which adds container stats, alerts and disk health.
Better Status Page is a self-hosted status page and uptime monitor that fits on one small server. It checks HTTPS, ping, DNS, database and Docker targets and alerts you through Discord, Slack, ntfy and more.
Track CPU, memory, disk and network use for every container on one host, from a small daemon with its own web page. The same numbers are served as Prometheus metrics, ready for Grafana dashboards and alert rules.
Run website change detection on your own server. Add a page, pick the part to watch, and changedetection.io alerts you when its text changes, the price drops or the item is back in stock. Alerts go out by email, Discord or a webhook, and more services are supported.
Point Glance at a YAML file of widgets, such as RSS feeds, Reddit posts and Docker container status, and it serves them as one dashboard. The binary is under 20 MB and the Docker image is about as small.
Watch system stats from the terminal or a web browser with a cross-platform system monitor that also has a REST API.
Build dashboards and alerts for metrics from your home server, network and services.
Monitor servers, containers and homelab hardware every second, with ready-made dashboards and anomaly detection. It discovers what to watch automatically.
